How Sessions Work

Noon start. Half day or full day. One piece per session.

Sessions start at noon and run either half day or full day, depending on the piece. I do one tattoo per session. days.

If you want more than one piece, I can book you for consecutive days, up to 4 in a row, with a new piece each day. That works well if you’re traveling in: instead of one long sitting for one big piece, you spend a few days in Portland and leave with several finished pieces, each done and healing-ready on its own.

Ornamental Blackwork, Kept to Scale

Solid black, high contrast, built for a single sitting.

I specialize in illustrative ornamental linework or blackwork tattoos. I prefer themes focusing on flora and fauna, high contrast imagery, realism, or deco-styled art.

I try to keep every focused on maximizing the time in chair, with smaller single-shot tattoos being preferred. This doesn’t mean I do not do larger scale work so if you are looking for that, reach out and we can have a consultation.

Preferred Projects: Small Single Session Tattoos. Other Projects Accepted Full Sleeves, Back Pieces, Large-Scale Multi-Session Work.

About Fae

Fae Kennedy

I’ve been tattooing professionally for about four years. I’m a nonbinary and queer artist specializing in illustrative blackwork, mostly ornamental pieces built around flora and fauna.

Consent-based tattooing has been a huge focus in my career, and it always will be. I want every client to feel like they can ask questions, take breaks, and speak up for their own boundaries.

FAQ

Booking & policy

What time do sessions start?

Noon. Half-day and full-day sessions both start then.

Can I book more than one tattoo?

Yes — I don’t split a single piece across multiple days, but if you want more than one piece, I can book you for consecutive days, up to 4 in a row, with a new piece each day.

Do you do large pieces, sleeves, or back pieces?

Not right now. I keep my work to a single-shot scale — solid black, ornamental, one sitting.

I’m traveling from out of town, how far in advance should I submit?

I like to book out 2 to 3 months at a time. Please send in your submission at least a month in advance for the best chance of availability on your desired date.

I’m traveling from out of state, what should I know?

The studio is in NW Portland, a short rideshare from PDX. If you need a place to stay, I recommend The Paramount Hotel Portland downtown, 808 SW Taylor St, (503) 223-9900.

I want a custom piece from you. How does that work?

I reserve custom projects for repeat clients, meaning someone that has gotten at least one piece of my flash regardless of size or price.

What is your rate?

I charge $600 for a half day of tattooing and $1,200 for a full day.

What is the retainer and how much do you charge?

I charge 30% of my flat rate as a retainer — either $100, $200, or $400 depending on the length of the service.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash and Venmo.

Am I allowed to bring guests to my appointment?

Yes, everyone needs a little moral support sometimes. I do ask that you limit it to 1 guest as I don’t have the space to accommodate more than that.

What is parking like near the studio?

There’s a lot behind the studio on 18th as well as plenty of street parking.
